Inside engine compartment... Bottom of column tube (where foam seals go) is rubbing on steering shaft coming from steering box.
Inside of car, I've loosened the 2 bolts that hold plate, the 3 bolts that allow rotation of the interior mount to firewall and the 2 nuts that pull column up to dash.
Whats the proper sequence to tighten everything and keep steering shaft centered in the column ?
I had problems with steering column getting hot. Everyone here has said that I needed the foam seals and I knew that I had them. Turns out the column was not centered and bottom half of seal was gone, not the top half that I could easily see.
