Help! Problems with tachometer from Charger specialties
« on: August 14, 2015 - 11:07:25 AM »
I have a tach from Charger specialties in my ralley dash. Hook up with a ready-to-run MSD distributor. I worked fine for a couple of years. But now lately it's been crazy.
The tach needel is all over the place and sundely it's back to working, and the it's not. I check the splice at the distributor tach out tack and it's fine. And the tach worked like it should when I testet it then. Let the car sit for about 3-4 hours and now it all over the place, acting crazy. The strange thing is that the heat of the engine coolant and oil pressure seems to go higher then instrument panel when the tach is acting crazy.

How can I find out what the problem is?
How can I measure if the ready-to-run MSD distributor is giving me the correct signal to the tachometer? Volts?
