Planetary gears
« on: August 21, 2015 - 06:42:18 PM »
Rebuilding my 727... I'm sliding everything onto the output shaft and I'm having a lot of trouble sliding on the sun gear and shell. How easy should this be sliding on the output shaft, it's so tight that I can't get any free play to adjust clearance, the bushings are so tight that it won't allow anything to move up and down and it won't rotate on the shaft without a lot of force.

I had a shop install new bushings I guess they were the wrong ones?

More likely they didn't support the bushing properly & it collapsed slightly.... Sometimes trying to do the right thing does more harm than good... Often when O/H a torque flight I use the bushings.... & I have all the tools to replace them.. Plus a lathe so I could make what ever driver I need....  If the bushings are tight I leave them alone...

They weren't even bad either just decided to replace them all... Guess I'll be dropping them back off. Lesson learned I guess...

I'll give them the output shaft this time so they can make sure it fits
