best method for proper paint adhesion to 71 cuda grill

guys and gals,

I have a 71 cuda PPR grill and have been unsuccessfully trying to paint it.
nothing sticks. I have tried many adhesion promoters etc. and flexible additives, with no luck.

?does anyone know what material that PPR used for there grills?
?what have others done with these grilles to get paint to stick?

I dont know what they are made of but...

The body shop i used to work at did alot of delamination repairs on toyoya bumpers in the 90's

Premier Plastic Reproductions did their grilles from cold casting resin.... Hate to say it but painting it's gonna be the least of your issues.... Get it out in the heat & it'll sag/deform.... Personally I'd suck it up & buy one from Dave @ Roseville or Mike Ross @ BEA....

Yes I agree the Premier Plastics grills are No Good been there done that.... I have a new Metro one on my shelf with all the trimmings still in the box that I don't really need if you want to buy it.
