383 6 pack ?

Just for the sake of argument.....

If you had a good running stock HP383, would you put a 6pack on it ?  :D

no, headache to tune, and will make more power with single 4 barrel
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

 unless you want the looks , the 6 pack will run $2600 a very good carb + intake under 1k

I had added a six pack to my ex- 71 Cuda in 1992. Only about $1000 back then. Even had a sign shop make a silk screen 383 Six Barrel for the air cleaner. I loved the set up. Was the car faster? In my case, yes. 71's had a 600 cfm Holley as stock. With the old hemi grind purple shaft, and CPPA heads (remember those?) Headman the headers and 3.23's ans 4sp, that car ran 13.8's all day and I drove it everywhere. Never touched the carbs.

NO, I would not, there is no benefit other than the cool factor. But if that's what you are aiming for. Then sure why not, go for it. You don't have to explain to me why you would do something just because it would be cool.

I absolutely would, did back in the 70's & 80's and plan on doing again with the Roadrunner when I rebuild  the original 383 soon.  Even fits into the Airgrabber hood setup perfectly, too.  It  does look very cool, Mopar sold this setup back in the 70's - early 80's so its period correct if that matters.  And the sound, I loved hearing all those carbs opening up together!   More complex than a 4 bbl sure, but worth it to some of us.

I added a six pack to my 440 in my old Challenger. There is nothing better than a finely tuned six pack at W.O.T.!!!!  It got pretty good gas mileage (who cares?) when cruising on the highway and if a passing situation presented itself HOLY SMOKES!!! would that thing come alive!!! Mine was an automatic and you might not get the same results with a stick car but it's still cool.

an AFR meter would certainly make tuning a 6 pak easier
