Low Deck ?

When Indy Cylinder Head says "451" Low Deck Hemi" what does that mean and how does it compare to a regular 426 Hemi ?

Is it base on a 383-400 block...is that what they mean ?

What are the advantages of that ? If any ?

I have a customer wanting to buy one for his resto mod....what problems will I face ?

It means the Hemi is based on the B wedge. The indy hemi heads are a hair taller than stock ones are. The B block height lets them fit better. My guess is you may have issues with header fitting because the exhaust ports are closer to the engine block as a result too. Not sure - that's just a guess.

Yes. You can order the wet aluminum block with the B wedge's 9.98 deck height. I believe KB also makes a B wedge wet block and would be the (much) better choice. Anything coming machined from Indy should be considered needing checking and possible remachining. KB has much better "as delivered" quality.
