    How can I track down my first car?
    318 Plum Crazy
    It is long ago and far away. Some 30 years.
    i don't have a vin# and I think the bank is out of business.
    Does the DMV keep any records of ownership?

    Some states keep their records and some don't.  I was told that here in Michigan, they only keep them for 10 years.   :dontknow:

    Thats what i had to do and the MTO (ministry of transportation) had all the info on my dads lisence every car he owned was on there and for a fee he got the car VIN, then they searched the VIN history and now i know every owner since my dad and the present owner so i can go find it  :thumbs:

    O and by the way my dad had it in 76-78 so they kept all records in ontario canada

    Do you have any old insurance records for it? They will list the VIN if you still have them stashed away.  :wave:
