Can I use a mechanical pump with 3/8 fittings with 5/16 fuel line? I realize my flow will be only as good as a 5/16 line, but I'm trying to pace my upgrades as money allows.

Pretty sure you will have to change everything at once. I understand the one thing at at time theory as I often apply this myself. In this case I dont think its feasible.

Not to be argumentative, but it is absolutely possible. The hard line is 5/16 running from the tank to near the pump, then it goes to a soft line to the pump. The pump can be adapted from 3/8 to 5/16 there and the line from the pump to the carb can either be adapted to the 3/8 pump or replaced with 3/8 line. Then later, you can change out the fuel pick up to a 3/8 and lastly change the hard line out to a 3/8. Probably not the most effective method but on a budget it would work fine.

Actually, my electric fuel pressure gauge comes off a small diaphram/transducer attached to the fuel line by the carb.
So all I have is a wire going to my dash area.

Cudabob, I am thinking of doing the same type of fuel pressure gauge setup. Want to know what gauge you used?
Also where inside did you mount it? I'm also getting an AFR, possibly mount both gauges in same mount? Thanks
