I have about 950 miles on my engine now on it's second oil change.
Brad Penn 30 Wt. break in oil.

I figure it can't hurt to keep it there till at least 2,000 miles?
Any thoughts?

Okay we did the oil change with 20W-50 VR1 and Wix filter.  This is the first oil change and I did it at 600 miles.  Original oil was cheap stuff and we added zinc.

I have not had the pedal to the floor yet but would like to give her a good push and maybe hear the tires burn once or twice.

Is it to early at 600 miles on a rebuilt motor?

Thanks.

:wavingflag: By now the bearings are as broken in as they can be.  So are the rings, the only question is the cam.  If you are running a roller you should be A-ok. A flat tappet I would give another 500 before romping on it too much. :2cents:

Drive it like you stole it. Every engine I ever built was driven balls to the walls from the minute the cam was broken in. Never had a minutes worth of trouble. Never understood the "baby it" theory? If assembled correctly, why does 50, 100, or 1000, miles make a difference?  :2cents:
