Mechanical fan
« on: December 10, 2015 - 10:40:04 PM »
Hey guys,
So I'm looking to upgrade/replace the mechanical fan on my 440 6-pack. As of right now there is a 19" 5 blade flex fan on the motor that has seen better days! I would like to purchase a fan with a little more of a stock look but still have get the performance out of it. I've been looking at the Derale fans. Has any one used them or does anyone have and recommendations for a good mechanical fan? Thanks

I have used a lot of the Flex-A-Lite 5918 if I recall correctly it is an 18 " std rotation 6 balde fan & install it on a new  Jag clutch

18 or 18.5 is about it for a fan size in a factory shroud.  Stock dirrect drive fans are plentiful and easy to come by. They just use a little bit more power to run is all. Your best cooling will always be with a fan shroud, the right size fan and set in the shroud the propper depth. A jag clutch is some useful info to jot down. If you ever go that way. Neil gave you some school of hard nox info there.  A 19 inch fan does not fit an E body shroud either, not without mods anyways
