I think that if anybody pays that kind of money for a 440 Auto(?) with the intentions of restoring it.....they're crazy....
If some rich Dude wants to own it a display it as is....then that's a different story...I could see it displayed in a collection like Tim Wellborn's or something like that.... :2cents:

Worth 180K well restored.  Probably cost at least 150K to restore it to well restored.
Mecum sure is hyping that car in their auction, I'd be afraid to get too close to it for fear of catching something!
Similar story appeared in the New York Times.  As I said, I'd be afraid to touch it as it sits now!  :puke:

At MCACN a few years ago I was helping Ryan set up the barn find display and they had a Ram IV Judge convertible in the display.  We had to move it into position and I ended up sitting in the drivers seat to steer while a couple other guys pushed.  Luckily I'd had a tetanus shot a few years earlier, or I'm not sure I'd be here today to tell the story.  That car was really really rusty.
I heard it sold for $350K though, that has to be near top dollar for a project car!!

Honestly I wouldn't want it. Even if you got it free the resto costs would equal the cost of a restored car without doing all the work. Not saying it should be crushed of course but it has to go to someone that can afford to waste some money on it.

I'm not a GM expert, but I think a Ram IV judge vert is one of the top dogs of the GM world. 17 built in '70.
The one I "drove" belonged to the Stiles collection and my understanding is they sold it to someone as it was being transported to the show.
