295 tire applications 71 Challenger
« on: November 20, 2015 - 07:53:52 AM »
Hello guys!

I drive a 71 challenger R/T and want some 295 BFG- tires on back! I know with the magnum wheels and 4 1/2 backspace it isn´t enouth place for the rubber and so I am interrested at the "offset hanger/shackle kit"!

Does anyone have 295 tires on the back with this kit or without???

THANKS!  :feedback:

Tim

I ran 295/50s on 15x8 rims with 4.75 back space on the stock location suspension with no interference. It was very close to the rear leaf segment, but it didn't rub.

I am now running a 305/45 on 15x10 with 5" backspace, springs moved in 1" per side, and a '67 B body housing. I have plenty of room all around.

If you only offset the leafs 1", you could run a 5 to 5.5" backspace rim.

I have 295/45-18 with 5.75 BS. I moved the springs 3/4" but I didn't need to. The tires were close, about 1/8" but I have plenty of room at the wheel lip so if I went with 5.5 BS that would have been perfect. When I upgrade the suspension this spring I'm taking out the relocation brackets and if I really need to I'll just put a thin spacer between the wheel and hub.

A 295/50r15 4.5bs 15x10 will only fit with air shocks, the leaf will be close depending on tire choice.  I ran a much bigger tire on a 15x10 4" bs and wasn't even close to the leaf... now the fender lip is a different story.
