Change cam while engine in car ?
« on: January 11, 2016 - 01:27:29 PM »
Buddy says there is room to change the cam in my '70 383 Cuda with the engine still in the car by simply removing the radiator. Is that possible ?

it is possible I believe, but a simple measurement will tell you. The cam runs the length of the block, measure that, then measure from the front of the engine forward and see what is in the way.

Absolutely yes. The camshaft just wiggles by the latch support brace.

No Problem  , done it lots  the smaller cam journals at the rear of the cam allow a lot of sideways movement as it is removed
