Help on break-in
« on: January 17, 2016 - 04:36:30 PM »
I'm planning on ordering TTI's shorty headers for my 340 but it says not to use them for first time firing and engine break in.... Would it be okay to use the exhaust manifolds off of my 318 for cam break in or should the shorties be okay?

I have used TTI eramic headers on many break in runs But I do everything right , Make sure you have a lot of timing advance as soon as the engine fires , richen the mixture screws if it runs better as this will cool exhuast temp , more fuel actually cools combustion temps , but yes the 318 manifolds will work fine too , what shortys do you have ?

Haven't ordered them yet. Was looking into getting the TTI shortys then having everything port matched.
