Hi there,

New member here but long time E-Body lover. Time to try to replace the 1970 Challenger I stupidly sold when I was a kid so I'm in the hunt for a project car, 10K - 15K budget and I'm keeping on eye on Craigslist, Ebay, and the other forums.  However, my dream is to find my original Challenger however, I don't have the VIN and the VA DMV is not going to give me any info on the past cars i've registered in the state and the county property tax office records don't go back that far.

I know this probably isn't the proper section for this so let me know which one is right and I'll cross post, but if anyone out there got, or knows someone who did, a 1970 H code Challenger from a stupid kid back in 1981 or 1982, PLEASE let me know.  It was burnt orange with a white vinyl top, burnt orange interior, 15" rallye wheels, rallye dash, auto with a slap stick, power windows, A/C, seat tbelt group (i think) and a 440 w/ the Carter AFB (VIN would have shown a 383 but I blew it up) and I think it had a 2.73 rear. It went to a guy in suburban MD (Howard County, maybe, or even Montgomery County) who was a big Mopar guy in the area at the time.

I know it's a long shot but I've got nothing to lose  :)

Thanks,

Steve

Welcome from north of the border. Don't be kicking yourself for selling the car. Back then it was just a fast car. Who knew they would become high valued classic collector cars 30 years later? I'm sure you did the right thing at the time.
