70 CUDA REAR GLASS + FRONT WINDSHIELD INSTALL WITH RIBBON SEALER **911 HELP**

I am ready to install the rear window on my 70 Cuda with the 3/8" x 3/8" x 15' Ribbon Sealer from Supersoft. You will see in the directions (pics below) that STEP 5 asks to refer to URETHANE INSTRUCTIONS for URETHANE SET WINDSHIELDS.

Q1: Can I set the REAR GLASS using just the RIBBON SEALER?
Q2: Can I do the same with the WINDSHIELD or do I also need to apply URETHANE on top of the RIBBON SEALER.

UPDATE: I decided to roll the dice and take me chances with installing the rear glass with just the RIBBON SEALER. (PICS)

Still need to know if RIBBON SEALER is all I need for front windshield and whether or not I F****d up by installing the REAR GLASS with just the RIBBON SEALER.

On the rears there was a metal clip (2) on each bottom side that maintained the window spacing. The seal is usually soft and without the positioning clip, you may see the rear window slide down slightly, especially on a real warm day. Once the seal ages and hardens so to speak, it should not move.

The front is similar, except the line used two hard pieces of rubber on the bottom of the glass to maintain the centering of the glass.

Hope this helps. I think you should be ok on the rear window, just keep it out of the heat until the seal cures and hardens. I would suggest getting the supports for the front though.

Spacers need to be used front and rear as mentioned.

Once you put the trim on, you'll know if you did it right.
There should be very little to no gap on the trim fit to glass.

I have to get my front and rear glass re done.

I just use the ribbon. After a day or two I use a garden hose and spray everywhere to check for leaks, if there is a leak I use a bit of urethane to seal it. Not sure if that's right but it works for me. Generally I don't find leaks.
I cut my spacer blocks from chunks of rubber for the front and rear.

Don't it many times without the urethane, did it once with the urethane... it adds an extra level of sealing but isn't really needed...  As mentioned the spacer blocks should be used..

Whew, that was close!  I did have the spacers installed prior to installing the RIBBON SEALER. The window trim clip kit came with (18) clips + screws and (2) spacers. I was able to source here in the forum the location and orientation of spacer installation. Sweet!
