Welding snubber tabs onto a Dana truck diff

Team, question to those experience in welding cast iron, I have a Dana out of an F250 that if possible I'd like to have two or three tabs welded onto it so as I can drill and tap them to bolt a pinion snubber onto it, can it be done and any issues

welding cast is a problem  I would reverse the process & add a snubber to the floor above the diff , far easier to weld & re-inforce up there

That is typically how it's handled... Welding cast iron is tricky enough then expecting it to take the hammering of a pinion snubber isn't realistic...

 :cheers: :thumbsup: thanks guys, makes sense, yeah cast iron has always been iffy just thought nowadays with better technology there may have been an option. All good though, appreciate it
