I'd love to have them, not sure why. I just think they are cool but I don't want to part with 150 clams for them. Are they priced right? I'm sure you would do a lot of looking to find another pair in as good of condition. I guess if I had a 1916 car it would be a no brainer at twice the price.

Sorry, Brad, I was a little late getting on the comp- had to dash down to the post office for more stamps for Uncle Murray's "present". Hopefully it'll get past the sniffer dogs on it's way to Mitchell. And it's not true, here in the day of good sealants, that soaking it in the bathtub will do any good.  :22yikes:  ;)

:thinkerg:  That explains why he is not to keen on going to Carlisle this year! He's afraid you supplied "Olga" with a tub of lube for the rubber gloves!   ..... "Moon river"...

They are over priced.

http://ontplates.com/

they sell for 120 from this guy who restores them in Ottawa.

My uncle bought a set of ready to go and cleared with the MTO plates off him for his 70 mach 1. They look awesome.

I have almost every plate from 1918- the 50's. I got them all for free from someone that was going to throw them out.

Thanks for the link. My car is a 74. It's not quite as simple but food for thought.

I was at a customers a couple weeks ago when I noticed a series of licence plates starting at 1959 going up to  1975 in perfect pairs. I thought it would be cool to have a 69 or 70 plates for mine.

Here in the Great State of Michigan, you can register your car with plates from its year of manufacture.  Since there aren't plates for every year, you can use one with the correct-year renewal decal if that's all that's available.  After a little eBay hunting, I came up with a set of NOS '61 commercial plates for my wagon, a set of near-perfect '73 plates and a set of NOS '74 Michigan renewal decals for my Challenger, and an ultra-rare Manufacturer's Plate and an NOS '82 MI renewal decal for my Imperial.

You register them only once.  The plates never need to be renewed after that and there is no decal or modification applied to the plate.  8)
