1970 Cuda Lower Front Window Trim
« on: February 27, 2016 - 05:22:35 PM »
I purchased new front window trim for my 1970 Cuda from AMD. When I install the lower front window trim, it bulges and does not lay flat on the windshield. Is this common? Is there a way to form or bend the lower front trim to fit right and lay flat on the windshield?

Any help regarding this would be much appreciated.  :working:

Thank you!

Is the windshield gasket holding the trip up?

I remember on Graveyard Carz where they had to bend the lower chrome trim to fit snug to the windshield.  Worman guy says its pretty common and he used some metal tool to bend it.  Wish I could tell you the specific episode.

I wonder if the trim piece could be mounted to a 2x4 or 2x6 and then pushing down the edge that meets the windshield a little further down beyond the angle of where the glass would be. Haven't tried it but can't see why it wouldn't work.
