Cragar Direct Drill Fit Wheels (Picture)
« on: March 29, 2016 - 06:36:09 PM »
I received my Cragar SS Wheels in 15x8 and 15x7 from Summit.  Bolt circle 5 x 4.5.  It's what they call Direct Drill Fit.

The lugs they sent where the long sleeved lugs that would not go through the drilled holes in the Cragar.

Found out they sent the wrong lugs for this wheel.  Should have be the shorter conical seat lugs from Gorilla.  Picture attached.

My question is after I get the wheel and tire on the bolts/studs will there be enough bolt to screw these lugs on
and hold safely?  I know I see these on a ton of muscle cars including B and E Bodies.  Maybe I'm over thinking this.

Thanks.

should be but you will not really know until you mount them. All of these wheels are designed to be used with stock length wheel studs, so I think you will be fine. You don't need a lot.

Not sure exactly what this means Mr. Chryco.  Does the lug engagement need to go on at least 1.5" of the stud?

What is the usual length of a stud?  I'm not near the car right now.

Thanks.

He is saying that your lug nut must go over the stud 1.5 x the diameter (thickness) of the stud. So if your studs are 1/2", the lug nut should cover 3/4".
