Well after getting the Cuda back from it's final paint touch up I found that it was discharging all the way home. Mind you this was about a 30 mile drive and I was hoping it wouldn't die before I got home.
So I put the multi-meter on the alternator and revv'd her up and wow it was only putting out about 10.5V - not good. As well, it was making some funky noise while idling. At first the Cuda sounded fine but once it was warmed up it had this weird every 3 second squeak to it. So I decided to just go and replace the alternator.
Grabbed a new one today and put her on there. Sadly it was still showing only 10.5V and I thought dang what the heck. So I pulled the VR and put a known good one on there and whammo! Success! She is charging like a champ now.
Guess it's true what they say, once the alternator goes out, so does the VR.
