No lights.
« on: March 26, 2016 - 05:13:07 AM »
I have headlights, turn signals, hazards, and brake lights but when I have the headlights on my rear light won't show and my front lights won't work at all unless it's with turn signals.

Start with cleaning up the tail light ground. Clean the tail light housing and make sure the light fits snug into it.

double check the fuse with a meter &  that power is getting to the fuse so you'll know which end of the system to be looking at
Also ck that the filament in the bulbs are all good,,,, 2=filaments in each bulb

Doubt all the bulbs would be bad but NEW don't mean good..  Test voltage at and through the fuse otherwise you don't know which end of the system is faulty

Check the grounds REALLY well.

I'd put the headlights on a relay set up to remove that load from the rest of your system.  All the other lights performance will usually improve with headlight load removed.

It was doing this before I put headlights in, it's basically one day they worked flawlessly then bam! The next day is nothing except turn signals and brake lights

there really never were grounds , just the cast housings have to be able to make it to ground through the paint , you can add ground wires from the housings to a good known ground spot on the body . Start testing for power , you can start @ the light switch & turnsignal plug at the base of the column or  work from the other end tsting for power at the light sockets & working back towards the switches , if you have an Ohm meter you can test the housings to ground on the battery too
