1971 340 4 Speed Cuda Project No Longer For Sale
« on: April 01, 2016 - 10:48:29 PM »

My other car deal fell through so I am keeping this Cuda
extremely solid 1971 Cuda from Utah.
The car is an original FJ6 340 4 speed car.
Excellent floors and frame rails. This car spent most of it's life as a local show car in Utah until it was tucked away decades ago. It was skimmed straight and painted black in the 70s. Lower quarters could use some work.
There is no engine with the car, a non numbers 4 speed comes with it and an 8 3/4 rear end.
There is no fender tag with the car but there are two Broadcast Sheets.
Not many options on the car besides the 340, paint, power steering, buckets, vinyl roof.

Rick Simpson rsimpson3 at cogeco.ca
The car is in Cobourg Ontario an hour east of Toronto.

This car is close to me and I would love a shot of restoring it for someone.

If Rick's price was in CDN dollars I would serious think about myself....after all I did just sell my AAR... :dogpile:

It almost looks like you throw an engine in it, new wheels and tires, rattle can over all the gold and drive it.

I have to ask - where did the motor go?

Or did it go to the engine place in the sky?

Those are all the photos I have right now. I can get more this week.
The car had been sitting for many years with a 440-6 and Dana rear end that the owner kept when I bought it September 2014. He only left the 23 spline 4 speed for me.
We just put in an 8 3/4 from his stash so it would roll.
Everything would have to be gone through. There is a carpet glued to the trunk floor but it appears to be solid underneath.
It has great potential and I would like to keep it but too many irons right now. I have my Demon and Mach 1 listed and if they sell this Cuda will stay.

I should think about this car. I am stripping the stock stuff off my buddies 71, 340 Cuda and installing, Hemi, 5 speed, Dana 60, shaker, big suspension stuff etc.

I like it the way it is, I would leave the exterior alone, redo the interior and put a big obnoxious 440 in there for fun.
I can't see this one lasting long.

The FJ6, 4 speed and rallye gauges should sell this one right away alright.

That is my thought as well. Unfortunately, as Rick says, doesn't have many other cool options to carry it even further....The spoiler is added and it's a 14" Magnum car :eek4: again.... Why can't people order 15" rallies at least :screwy:

Black vinyl top as well with black interior....I would prefer white.

Rallye gauges are added as well. The set in the car are 72 and newer.

Looks like the correct 70-71 rallye gauges to me but just missing the knobs.   :clueless:
