When I wire up a car I always eliminate the fuseable link and splice in a Maxi fuse. The fuseable link was designed for a catastropic  failure.  But if its a failure you can fix on the side of the road, and have a spare fuse, your good to go. With a fuseable link your stuck, unless you carry a spare and the tools to replace it.    :2cents:

Hey Roadman, what is a maxi fuse? Is it just a heavy wired fuse holder, and if so, what amp fuse would be needed? My electrical demand is fairly stock except for and electric fan, fuel pump, and moderate stereo. Thanks.
And thanks thumper, I'm going to leave out the red wire. :rebel
