  I'm not aware of any conventional 5w40 oils,
The 5w40 I run is Amzoil synthetic. I don't believe there is any conventional 5w40.

I would have no issue with running a 0 or 10 weight in a small high reving motorcycle or small car engine. But no way would I run that weight in a large cube car engine at 5,000 or higher rpm.
