Sunroofs and performance
« on: January 01, 2017 - 09:29:51 PM »
I'm doing a lot of research on buying a new generation Challenger. I'm looking to use it for daily enjoyment and as a footbrake bracket car on the weekends. Wondering what your thoughts are concerning the suroof letting the car flex to much.

at best this is a guess , I have no access to the engineering , my first question is do they offer a sunroof on the Hellcat if so the engineers would seem to feel it is OK

The sunroof is an option on Hellcats.... So the engineers must think body flex isn't going to be a problem.

I am not a fan of sunroofs on muscle cars. Save the money you would have spent on the sunroof for a set of drag radials and a aluminum driveshaft.

I have a sunroof in my 2010 and love it, gives the interior a much airier feel to it when the interior cover is slide back. Given how the bodies are built, I doubt it has any negative effect on performance, especially in stock form.

I have a sunroof on my 10. When it's a little hot, I can use the "rear up" position to draw air out and just slide the cover back a few inches. I like to keep the light out because I'm tinted.

My other friend with a challenger sees mine and said, "the one option that he wished he got was a sunroof"

If it's your daily, get it.
