Trunk hinge install

Took mine off for paint now can't get them back on...what's the trick? Do I need to release the tension on the torsion rod?

What piece, exactly, are you referring to Dave? The arm that the deck lid bolts to and that swings up and down? Gotta picture?  :dunno:

I would put the torsion rod on last :2cents:

Got the hinges on. My rods were already installed. I was thinking the square spacers leaned on the back side of the hinge, not under if that makes any sense. Anyways they are on now, missing a star lock washer I'll look for at home depot
