Lower rear caliper bolts
« on: April 23, 2016 - 03:21:15 PM »
I heard a odd noise from what seemed to be my rear brakes. Pulled a wheels when I got home and noticed that the inner rotor was grooved up and the pad was worn. I went the pull the caliper and when I pulled the wrench the whole caliper lifted. WTF? The lower caliper bolt was gone. I looked at the other sided to see what bolt I would need to get to replace it and that one was gone too. Double WTF? Those bolts are locktighted in too. What could cause this to happen? Is it a possible common occurrence with SSB rear brake kits?

Red loctite?

I've lost a front caliper bolt before, I honestly think I'll safety wire mine from here on out.

I don't recall what they had on red or blue. Just odd. Just noticed that the uppers are loose too. Probably from the lowers being gone. I don't know if I can find the bolts at a parts store. They won't be able to search it and SSB is closed on the weekends. Figures it's beautiful weather for a cruise too.
