Removing emblems easily?
« on: May 06, 2016 - 07:10:48 PM »
Hello,

I'm about to start a thorough compound/polish job on my car and was wondering if there were easy ways to remove (and then reinstall) the emblems.

thanks!

Really depends on how they are mounted. If the emblems have pins on the backside there are probably some type of retainers accessible from the back. If the emblems are attached with a type of "3-M" emblem tape then they will have to be pulled/pried loose. Sometimes the gentle use of a heat gun can help to soften the tape. Good luck.

If it's adhesive, floss or fishing line can help "cut" it off.

Thanks! I'll try the heat + floss combo!
