Bumper Swap for the 73 and 74 Challenger
« on: May 07, 2016 - 06:05:46 PM »
Good afternoon guys -
I have been through many installs with Tremec 5 and 6 speeds, but this bumper thing has me so worked up its not funny.  Variations in the chassis's as I liked to call them, my bumper mount is located about 1/2" in to make the 72 bumper look nice and flush.  After taking the bumper off three times and fitting it where I wanted it.  I'm going to post up the shims that I made and the angle brackets to mount the bumperettes to the chassis.  I can't believe what the aftermarket guys (AMD) charge for this things.  Monday look for the downloadable file that you can take to your local sheetmetal house to have made or if you want I'll have them made for you.  I have $35.00 invested in water jet cutting (6 pcs.) and forming of the brackets in stainless steel.  Enough said - Time for a something frosty!  Cheers!
