I have a suggestion. If the knockoff looks the same as original, then use it. I've had very good quality new ones that don't work very good and have found (like others) that its a hellva lot less stressful to unhook your power and then hook it back up when time is correct. It was a bad design in the beginning as far as I'm concerned.
