I grew up in Harrisburg. But I probably couldn't tell you what to do.
Actually, for the first time ever, last year, we took a tour of the capitol building - it was a Sunday morning on a whim. I was really impressed. Its free, and quite beautiful. My 10 year old daughter is begging to go back.
There's also a Civil War Museum in Harrisburg, about a mile west of the capitol building. I've never been there, but would like to go some day.
I got a tour of 3-Mile Island once. I don't know if they do those any more. At least you could drive by and say you've seen it.
And the women folk always enjoy Lancaster County and the Amish. If you have any money left over, you can buy her a quilt.

The Red Rabbit Drive-In in Duncannon is a good place for a burger, and the waitresses come to your car like the olden days (
