Arm Rest Screws

I am finishing up the interior on the T/A and have come to the front door panels. I purchased new arm rest a while back (can't remember from who) and just now opened up the package . When I went to mount them I discovered there were no provisions to screw them in like the originals. No nuts or steel plate under the foam or anything to attach them solid. I realize there is not much pressure on the arm rest themselves as you usually grab on to the cup behind the arm rest. But I would think you would need something more than screwing into the foam. Has anyone else run into this issue or am I again overthinking this. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure there's no "hard core" to them ? Are they bendable like foam rubber ? I've never seen repros like that..

Alan, I did locate 4 small plates about 1/2" X1/2" square and 1/2" in.  So after persuading the new arm rest in the door panel three of the four plates are actually close to being in the right spot. I can't feel any holes in them so I guess I'll have to drill holes and use some sort of sheet metal or self taping screw them.
