Anyone have experience with Mo-Par City? Would they be a good Crate Engine source or a good site to build my engine?

Well I went to the Indy show and it was a nice one. I picked up a few things. The one thing I did not bring back was an engine. I talked to Indy Heads and just like on the phone calls, I did not feel comfortable talking to them. I lost confidence that they would be the ones to do business with.

It's too bad the Indy guys have a "holier than thou" attitude.  Eventually this will catch up to them.

It hasn't caught up to them yet... They have had a reputation for crappy service & bad vendor/customer communication skills for years... But they make parts that make power & for to long thats gotten them a pass in the Mopar world......  As a rule most guys that run their products buy them from a different vendor like BG Racing, let Bob deal with them & get you what you need.... They have a few parts that are worth having & allot of over priced third rate crap, their thin walled rubber pushrods come to mind... Bob & his crew will tell you up front what's worth getting from Indy & what parts your better off sourcing elsewhere...

JMO - stroking the 318 is fine, but more money than a 360 or 340. Understanding you have one already, maybe that's the way to go. On heads - aluminum is the way to go, and there's nothing wrong with Edelbrock or Indy product. But - you have to understand all aftermarket heads suffer from mass production defiuciencies and should be checked and corrected by a qualified shop. LA RPMs would be a good choice for your 390". You need the correct head haskets for them, but they are Felpro Performance. Cometic is not needed, and indeed if you want to run Cometic, you will need to have the heads surfaced because as delivered the surface finish is boarderline too rough for any Multi-Layered-Steel type gaskets.

On Bob George - if you want a crate type engine - he's your guy. If you are looking for a budget Mopar stroker - you will probably suffer from problems after you've got it in hand. BG Racing will not do you wrong.

Watch for Hughes engines, I did a set of heads for a customer from them. The one set of pushrod holes was machined .17 to far to one side making a proper port match impossible with out a set of pushrod tubes, and re-machining. Moral of the story no matter who you buy from always have a competent person go over everything. It's also the main reason I dislike crate motors, it gives them an out if something goes wrong after install. If you catch a machining issues before it ever sniffs gas they have to honor even the most basic of warranties.

Indy advertises the pee out of their products and has nice, two page, full color ads, so they tend to attract a lot of buyers through their marketing efforts.

:wavingflag: I bit on a set of indy t/a heads with cnc porting, they are really nice except they used stones to grind the valve seats rather than a cutter.  But their  customer service is horrible!!!!!!  Just due to that alone I will never deal with them again.  Just calling and asking simple questions they get kind of pissy, after they have your money forget about it the customer is just a dummy with a wallet.   :2cents:
:wavingflag:  Quit being offended by everything, I am sure you are doing something that upsets me, but I am not complaining about you!!! It is a free county get over yourself!

The head drama continues, the pushrods wont clear the passages machined and with pushrod geometry the way it is there is little to no adjustment let on the rockers! Not to mention had mill .030 off of them to get the right chamber size.  Indy.....never again :banghead:

I talked to AJ at BobGeorgeRacing. Thanks for the suggestion.
AJ was a great guy to talk to. He knew his stuff.
They are building me a 340 with TA heads and a 727 Trans.
