Hey guys,

I'm putting together my 340 and I'm not sure which thermostat to use the 160 or 180.  I have both below.

It's a mildly built 340.  Thanks

Pending where you live (hot/cold), how you drive, as well as your radiator/fan/shroud setup, see if your engine can by with the 180 (actually, I think a 190 is recommended by Chrfysler/Mopar) for our cars.  I've tried used a 160 (Chicago 'burbs area, summer only) and it'll run cool until I do road course lapping sessions (~20-30 minutes per session)... then I have to flip the heater on full blast to help reduce the heat... and a 180 didn't help except if running in cool weather (spring or fall).   I'm planning to get a larger radiator, and likely aluminum.   180~190 helps make the engine more efficiently.... colder temps not so good for cylinder wear in the long run of the engine's life.
Autocross/road racers go in deeper... and come out harder!

the coolest I use is 180 * so that would be my suggestion , 160* is too cold

180 here also.
Warmer engine provide better atomization of fuel. Main reason in past years the oems (before FI) went with the 195 degree ones.
Removing the warning labels one at a time.
Nature will take care of the rest.

Ok, I'll be the odd guy out. 180* is too cold unless you are at the strip. Your engine will prefer a 190-195*.

I would not argue against the 190/195 but would argue against the 160

I am running a 180 °F Thermostat....but only because till now I couldn´t find a Highflow Thermostat in 195 °F....     195°F  is the best you can run...if your cooling system is in good shape !!
