Is this a good deal
« on: July 25, 2016 - 09:33:23 PM »
I love my 74 Challenger but I'm not at all up to speed on the new ones. Is this a good deal? 117,000 KM = 73000 miles. Price is in CDN dollars or about $11,500 US.

Murray,

From here, that car looks good. It isn't without options since it has a leather interior and fog lights. They did a nice job of making it look like an SRT. The 3.5 liter engine doesn't have excessive miles on it, given the age. The nice bonus is you can put an after-market exhaust on that 3.5 that will sound really nice. I have a 3.6, and it's a totally different animal in as far as the exhaust sounds...And not for the better.   :pullinghair:

So, some more info for you...The 09's came with a 4 speed automatic. I noticed some bogging between 2nd and 3rd, and between 3rd and 4th occasionally. Not bad, but something I wanted to mention.

I had an '09 S/E, so ask away with your questions.

Thanks Mike. Right now I'm trying to wrap up wheat harvest so I don't have time to properly persue this. Hopefully by the weekend. Funny thing is I've always preferred the 12-14 RT Classic but for some strange reason this car is speaking to me.

price is OK for that year/engine *if* it has a clean history report. if it was rebuilt from a salvage title, no way.

"It's a Crown jar Ian   "  That's just one of the things I like about you laddie- you've got a sense of tradition! You still doing that BBQ you mentioned? Date? If it doesn't blow up or fall apart, I might just try to trick the old Challenger and see if I can get it over there.
