73 Barracuda and 71 Challenger
« on: May 25, 2016 - 09:46:41 AM »
Hello everyone, I have been lurking in the shadows for several years, reading, learning, ect. I am finally to the point of starting work on a couple of my e-bodies and figured I would introduce myself as I'm sure I will have several questions. You guys seem like a pretty tight knit group and the amount knowledge on here always impresses me. Mopar guys are few and far between it seems here in East TX. Here is my 73 Barracuda, 340, 904, a/c. Check out the fender tag if you will, a little different for sure.

Here is my 71 Challenger, just picked this car up, it has changed hands a couple times over the past year and I don't have any history on the car. It does have a little rust in the inner fender liners and trunk but other than that its a very well preserved, triple green car. I believe it was sold new in the north, 318, 904, 7 1/4 rear.. If anyone knows of the car, any information is greatly appreciated.

That's a nice looking Chally!  '71 is my favorite year too. What are your plans for these cars?

Thank you guys! Well, I have gone back and forth on plans for the Barracuda over the past couple yrs, first I wanted a 70' ev2 hemi/shaker tribute, my grandfather has an old 354 which I thought would be unique. Then I was envisioning a 70'AAR in W1, matte finish, gloss stripe, red guts. I have a 70' 340 and 4 speed in a 72 duster. Right now I'm thinking a 70' cuda tribute in A4 Winchester gray, 512 stroker, dana, 4speed,.. not really sure on the interior, I wonder how red would look with this combo?

The Challenger, I am pretty set on a tribute of the car Greg Hernandez used to own, Y9, black interior/stripe, would love to be able to match the gold top. Have a 394 ci 383 ready to go in the car, working on getting the trans rebuild, need a radiator, 8 3/4 ect. This place will really help me stay focused and motivated.

You know just looking at the fender tag on the Chally again it appears to be a quadruple green car. wow thats a lot of green  :naughty:, I'm pretty sure at this point it has every shade covered as well...

Welcome
 cool cars  :2thumbs:
Don't try to stuff the 354 into the Cuda though they are even bigger then the 426 & really hard to fit into an E body well not tht it cannot be done

I appreciate the welcome! Good to know about the 354 in an ebody, I knew there had to be good reason I haven't seen any early hemi's on here. Do you guys know of any members on here with an early swap?

The challenger is getting started first, I saw that dark gold metallic 71 and just knew I had to recreate that car for myself, just beautiful...
