I'm unaware of from who/supplier Milodon is getting their gaskets from... I recall many years ago they were buying from Fel-Pro. Fel-Pro offers a rubber-coated fiber gasket set... this is more durable from being "crushed" as well as far more resistant to years of becoming saturated. "Crush-proof" should imply that the gasket has metal (or sometimes plastic) internal grommets at the bolt holes which will limit the gasket compression/squeeze.... do the side-rail gaskets have internal solid stoppers?
For chemicals, just use a small dab of RTV at the 4-intersecting corners; the rubber ends attached into the pan via pull-through tabs; the side rails long gaskets are best installed dry, but pending how you're installing them (on an engine stand, or below the frame, you could simply use some quick-drying contact cement to hold them in position. Remember... the gaskets do the sealing, not the chemicals.
