Hi

I am restoring to original a customer's 1970 AAR Cuda.

Looking for a supplier / vendor who sells most accurate, new, correct style, with grease boots, tie rod ends and ball joints?

Feedback appreciated.

I use Moog as well but they aren't close to "correct" they are just good quality functional; parts.. If this AAR is going for OE level judging you'll want OE parts, if it's just going for normal judged car shows & the owner actually intends to drive it Moog is the right choice...

Just be aware NOS these days has been perverted from correct OE NOS to anything that was once or currently sold over the parts counter at your local dealer.... There was a time NOS got you the good stuff, these days it's very much a gray area...

To add to this if he's truly serious about an OE level judged car he should research those few shops that specialize in Mopar OE, not meaning to offend anyone but researching & sourcing all the details of a OE resto can take years & countless $$$$ so while they do charge a premium shops that specialize in Mopar OE are gonna have the background to empty his wallet..  I mean restore his car and having the right names associated with the resto can also effect how the judges view the car....  I hope he's prepared for what lies ahead...

For example...There's a guy on Mofarts.com right now looking for NOS upper ball joints. He's willing to pay the "going rate" which is $500.00 PER ball joint.....So $1000 just for two small upper ball joints :screwy:

As usual Alan & I are on the same page...... Build them to drive & enjoy, let those with liquid cooled bank accounts deal with OE stuff... :screwy:

Many NOS/ OEM are NOT assembly line correct, NOS 1986 fan belt looks nothing like a Nov. 1970 assemlby line belt. I am finishing an OEM assembly line resto for my Dad, I will never do one again, to much time/money/stress. but Frank Badelson has a great dust boot kit with correct marks/letters FWIW. :2cents:
