Anyone have any pictures of this stripe option?
« on: June 02, 2016 - 10:10:22 AM »
I just purchased this car, it has had one repaint in its life and is now a darker shade of green than the original F7. I was curious if anyone has a picture of an F7 car with the V7F stripe?

That's probably going to be pretty hard to find.  V7F is just a thin double pin-stripe in "ledger green".  Here is V7W for reference...

Here is a ledger green stripe but it's not V7.

Thank you Burdar, so the stripe would be painted on then along the body line. That's strange because the car has body side molding on it, not the stick on type either. Wonder why someone would go to the trouble of adding it after the fact, however, this must be the case since this option does not show up on the tag.

Three things:

1) There is no such thing as a Ledger Green stripe. Dodge simply called it green. Performance Car Graphics coined the name so they could describe the color. Same with Peacock Blue and Tomato Red.

2) Paint stripes are not the same color as tape stripes. Accent stripes like this one typically would not even be a paint color used as a body color. There are exceptions to this.

3) 1971 accent stripes follow the upper body line, not the center one.

That is one slick stripe option.  Would look really good on that green body color.

So, how could this stripe option be on the car if there are studs for a piece of trim down the side?

Would the trim have been installed later?  Is there a tool to install the little metal nubs that hold the trim on?

If you're asking me I'm not following you. What would interfere with the stripe? The gold car has some aftermarket bodyside molding attached, but it's the only car I have pictures of that aren't too big to post here.

I looked at the VIN wrong.  I saw a 0 instead of a 1.  So this car could have come with the stripe AND body side moldings since the 71 stripe is up high.

Ah ok, the green stripe should follow the upper body line. When I originally decoded the tag I did not remember the code for the body side molding being present, suppose I'll have to look again. Here's a couple shots of the molding on the car.

Not from the factory, but if the dealer added it there would not have been any issues. if you ordered the moldings it replaced the standard stripes.
