I agree! Stock fan and fan clutch and you really need the shroud.

Only works if you have a stock engine too. More horsepower = More heat. It's thermodynamic law, simple as that.
The stock mechanical fans, radiators and water pumps were designed for stock horsepower outputs. Once you start making significantly more horsepower, the stock cooling system can become inadequate. The factory offered several different radiator/engine combinations, so some combinations have more room to handle additional horsepower than others. But you can absolutely exceed the amount of horsepower that the stock system was intended to cool. For example, my Challenger has a 318, but it has a 26" radiator because it was an A/C car from the factory. Without the A/C removed like it is now, that leaves me a lot of room to add horsepower before I surpass the cooling ability of that 26" radiator. But if I had a 22" radiator, not nearly as much. It depends entirely on the combination of parts and the amount of horsepower.
