Oh sure bring that up.  No.  :misbehaving:

I decide to shelve that project for the time being.  I figure the nice weather was here and I would rather be driving the car the fussing with the exhaust.  So I put the headers back on for now.  That way I can test and adjust the power box easily. 

I hope to do the manifolds and a new exhaust system later this summer.

Well folks, time for a somewhat belated update.

First off, I can not believe the number of views this post has or the number of comments.  I hope it has helped a few of you.

After putting a few miles on the car with the rebuilt box, I have to say I have mixed feelings. 

At first I was worried about all the play in the wheel, but I think that was an over tightened cross shaft adjustment.  I have backed off the adjustment and I am sneaking up on it a little at a time and it is definitely getting better. 

Just to remove any doubt I have also replaced the pitman and idler arem with new Moog units.  Those were the only two parts in the front end that had not been replaced yet.

Now the big question, the feel of the box.  Remember I installed extra reaction springs to tighten up the feel of the box.  I think this is a hit...maybe (mixed feelings).  Turning right, seems to take more effort then turning left...left is very easy.  I think this is simply adjusting the valve on the top of the box to equal out the steering assist.  IF that it the case, I think I will be more then happy with the feel of the box.  If not...maybe I screwed something up. :bigsmile:

Anyway, If you a looking at rebuilding a leaky box, I would say go for it...the only really hard part, once you get your head around all the various pieces, is staking the large nut that holds he lower half of the power assembly together.

More to report after I make a few more adjustments.
