71 cuda side mirrior remote cable repair?

so putting on some of my last pieces for the body and whiling putting on a new driver side mirror I heard a "tink" and a small brass/gold colored (what looks like a rivet head) feel out of the mirror and now the glass does not move with movement of the remote toggle. I would assume something broke. anyone know of where one can obtain these internal parts.

Nothing is available to fix that. IF a part can be swapped to fix it will need to come from a donor mirror.

would all the internals from a 70 mirror fit a 71 mirror, I believe everything is the same with the exception of the longer base on a 71.
correct?

if so can the cables, at the remote end, be removed, and reinstalled?

If the mirror is still tight and doesn't flop around....I wouldn't worry about it....how often do you plan on adjusting your mirror? Most times it's easier to reach out the window

ya, unfortunately it "tilts" to one side and will not stay in any other position...looks like ill have to buy another complete.

so is it a must that all 'cuda's had remote driver mirror or could it have been manual?

Manuals mirror was standard. Remote ds was an option.
