    high beam dimmer switch orientation

    Okay, naturally of the thousands of pics I took of the car during tear down, I didn't get this one.   :banghead:  I had to replaced the driver's floor board panel due to rust during the restoration.  Getting ready to re-install my floor mounted high bean switch and the new floor panel doesn't have any holes or indents to indicate how the switch was mounted and I covered it up with Dynamat anyway.  So my question is, the switch has a three prong plug on it.  Which direction does the three prongs face?  My guess would be towards the driver's kick panel/parking brake lever but then that would mean the two mounting holes would be vertical instead of horizontal which my gut tells me is the way it was mounted.  But my gut has been wrong before.  I did a google and forum search and all the pictures have the carpet over the switch so that doesn't tell me what I need to know.   :feedback:

    connection goes up. holes are horizontal

    It can work both ways.



    I was in the same situation. Asked around and came up with this. I figure it puts less strain on the wiring/connector when facing towards the side.

    Well crap, there ya go. When you get older you can't remember (or don't know what you think you know), and you get lazy. All I had to do was walk 30 steps to the garage and look. My apologies...

    I decided to mount it a different way but yeah that is the stock location.
