Voltage Limiter / Gas Gauge
« on: August 14, 2016 - 07:56:36 PM »
Hey guys, still trying to track down the gas gauge issue. Ordered a replacement gauge from classic, an still having issues.

Does anyone know what the voltage should be coming out of the voltage limiter ? It keeps fluctuating but the closest  consistent reading I get is  54.3 .  It will dip to 43.6 and as high as 65.0 but only for a second and drops back.  At present the temp. gauge doesn't work but I had to change the end that goes on the sender so that may be to blame.

5 volts pulsed .  Are you sure you on the right scale , those numbers seem x 10

Here's a good vid I found explaining it

A stock limiter pulses between 0vdc and 12vdc to give an average of 5vdc. The numbers you put down don't make a lot of sense to me.

I'll check out that video.

I did a recheck with the meter down one click and got..   077 on the sender unit.  078 on the end that goes on the gas gauge  and 053 on the voltage limiter.

 :clueless:

Yeah watch that video ,  watch were and how he gets his 12vdc source on the limiter ,  get your meter settings right (showing 12-14 Vdc)  and then recheck limiter output and sender , cause those numbers are not normal ..

Best guess at what those numbers mean would they be mV? Just a small floating voltage due to a limiter that is faulted open?
