Any explanation for this?  I wish that I had bid on this one.

Sometimes you can get a great deal because no one is paying attention, my buddy just bought a nice 70 Coronet convertible on e-bay for 16 000!

Maybe it is a 340 clone car that started out life as a 318 or /6.  If it is a clone then the money paid is not completely out of line in my opinion but if it is true 340 Cuda vert then someone got a killer deal!

I've been looking for months, and still haven't seen a cheap Barracuda vert.  No
What the engine config. I wasn't considering auctions when this car rolled across.  Even challengers are bringing over 50k for a 340.  One just sold, a '71 go green chally vert with a 340 (318 originally) for 59.5k.

I'm not speaking about this particular car but auction cars in general.  Having been to a number of barrett jackson Palm Beach and Auction America Ft Lauderdale auctions in the past 8 years, some of the cars that look great on tv are real pigs up close and sell for what they are worth if not more than they are worth with added commission and transport.  With the attention that follows 70 Cuda converts at a high profile auction like Mecum, I'd bet that car was a bondo bucket.
