I need to lift the back of my car an 1" or 1.5"
« on: August 06, 2016 - 05:14:01 PM »
Besides adding a leaf to my springs, which i don't want to do, is there a simpler way to raise the back end of the car? I have seen some shackles in previous posts that may work, is there some rear coil-over shocks that can be added to the rear suspension?

Shocks mostly help with the softness of the ride, not really for lifting the car.  You can try new shackles but they hang down lower than the rear valance.  Why are you opposed to a new set of springs?  Pretty cheap and easy to install.

I have larger wheels and tires that i put on and i am getting a little rubbing. I like the ride, i just need a little more height. I do have my old original springs on it, and possibly they have sagged over the last 35 years. May just need to replace the springs. What do you think?

A lot of us have had great luck here....    http://www.springsnthings.com/leaf-spring.htm
They will build them to suit the height you request eg. plus 1" etc.....

Why are you against adding a leaf , I used to do this all the time & it doesn't take long to do & the cost is low , just a second full length leaf under the main lifts the car maybe 1"
