Good machine shop near Pittsburgh?
« on: April 05, 2011 - 02:35:16 PM »
I need to get a block checked/cleaned etc....does anyone know a good shop near Pittsburgh that can do it? I would prefer a shop that does plenty of Mopars and has a torque plate if I need machining. I know I can call around and ask but I figured yall's recommendation would be better. Thanks for the help

Valley Auto Parts in Wilmerding (near Monroeville) has a machine shop run by Mopar racers. Nothing fancy but they know what they're doing.  (412) 823-3200. Ask for Frank.
Jake Savani in Mckeesport  does good work. He's not a Mopar specialist but he's very thorough. A lot of small local shops send their stuff to Jake. I heard he has an engine dyno too.  (412) 678-9220
These are the shops in my neck of the woods. Maybe head up to Pittsburgh Raceway when they're running. Ask the Mopar guys who they use. :2cents:

Hey PA Dodger

I am in your neck of the woods......do you do the Norwin cruise?  Whereabouts are you?

I dont have any machine shop names, but for good tranny work, great Valley automotive fixed me up right a couple years back.....

I am looking for a good shop that understands old Mopar alignments....

Shadango,
I do the Norwin cruise often. I live within 5 minutes of the cruise. I have used Mineike for my alignment. Every once in a while I see a nice Cuda sitting at Monroe muffler on Rt.30 in Irwin. I believe it's an employee's car. That might be a good place for an alignment from someone who knows what they're doing.

Lemming,
I have heard good things about P&R in Greensburg. What about Powerhouse Performance in New Alexandria?

DLK in Russelton. Johny, the shop manager, is a Mopar guy and owns Mopars.
Ask for Jeff to get the ball rolling.
