O2 sensor issues/solutions
« on: August 17, 2016 - 09:46:49 AM »
My 2000 Caddy keeps getting codes. One is a P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1). I have replaced the converter as that was suggested. But it keeps it up. Think I should just replace the O2 sensor? I also found some other products when searching for a new sensor. What about one of these solutions?

Any ideas?

16 years old, it could be original. I would replace the O2.

True, it could be original. However the computer runs a test on both O2 sensors first. Then it runs the efficiency test. That's why I replaced the cat. This code said the cat was the problem, not the sensor. But I will replace both the upstream and the downstream sensors anyway.

I was really wondering about that eco-economizer. Any one think that things claims are for real?

I think I'm just going to trade this thing in. I'm sick of working on it. Every thing I have done to it so far has been a pain in the a$$.
