Got our first decent rain in over a month this weekend. Crops are really suffering. Have set a record for number of days over 30*C.

It's been hot here in chi-town this summer and between the heat and rain it's hurt the show and cruise season for sure.
Seems to rain every other Friday which messes up my favorite Friday night cruises.
In recent years it seems like every other summer is hot.  Last year I don't think I had the AC on more than 3 or 4 times all summer.  This year I probably had the AC on 3 or 4 times in a week in early June and almost daily every week since!
No fires here.  Some of the south suburbs and central IL have got nailed by heavy rains a few times, but not up in the north and NW burbs.  So it could have been worse!
Supposed to get cooler next week so hopefully I can finally get out in the garage and do some serious gearing on my project without risking heat stroke!
